Biopsy Experience #2

Ok, it’s that time again. I’m in the small personal waiting room, waiting for them to take me back. I am glad that I know how it works this time, because my anxiety about the whole thing is almost nonexistent. See ya on the flip side!

The flip side:

So I am really glad that this biopsy wasn’t the first one. It was definitely different this time. Getting me into position for the mammogram to target the right area hurt a good bit more than last time. I felt every stick of the needle when he was numbing me, and when he locked the biopsy needle into position, I definitely felt that. None of it was more than I could bear, but it was very different than last time. Last time I felt nothing but pressure after the first stick of the needle to numb me. This time, I even felt all three times that he sampled the tissue. He did add additional numbing meds, but apparently my body was like, “Nah dude. I need to feel it this time.” At one point he asked if it was still hurting, but I told him I could take it and to just go ahead and finish. Considering I was already in the right position and everything, I didn’t want to draw it out longer than necessary. However, now ya girl is on the couch wrapped tightly in an ace bandage with an ice pack positioned in between wraps. If you need me within the next few hours, you know where to find me.
